This cake was for a friend's 50th anniversary, still getting used to making roses, definitely need more work!

Last Week was my last week of classes and it feels weird not to be in class anymore. But I learned how to sculpt a purse, hand mold a bride, make and elephant and a monkey! Such a great learning experience!
















































AND THE BEST PART OF THE PAST COUPLE OF WEEKS!!! I TOOK A BRONWEN WEBER CLASS!!! we did a 2D sculpted animal of our choice! SO MUCH FUN!!

it's been a while...

OK so I haven't updated in a while! not because I haven't been doing cakes but because I've been doing so many!!!
here's the most recent!

This week I did a birthday cake for a coworker of mine. It was her 24th birthday and she loves fashion and purple..



This cake was alot of firsts for me. First time to cover a board in fondant, first time doing the diamond cut out, along with ribbon on the tiers. Definitely a learning experience and the birthday girl loved it.

PME class

so Valentines has passed and I'm all caught up on cakes! I had 5 cakes v-day week. I was busy busy busy. But it was sooo much fun.

I started an internship last week at a bakery called Celebrate Cakes. The owner, April, actually trusted me to do her mother's entire birthday cake- all the way down to the design!

Tomorrow starts my 5 hour long class. It's the PME classes. I'm really nervous about it, what are we going to do for FIVE hours?
I'll let you know what happens...

The past couple weeks has been about fondant. I took the beginners fondant class and at the end of the intermediate cake decorating class we did a fondant cake.

Intermediate Cake Decorating Class Update

Ok so learned a few new things in my class. Basketweave- is tedious. wow. Also learned some new borders like the rope border and another one that I can't remember the name of.

as you can tell my roses suck butt, I'm working really hard on getting them to look good. Any ideas or tips?

YAY! We also learned scrollwork! I love scrollwork






On a side note. Work has been awesome this week. I don't know if I've mentioned but I'm a waitress at a burger place called Red Robin and I absolutely love it.

Where has the time gone?

BUSY. work, cake, sleep. that's all I do anymore, and I LOVE it. I've been taking classes recently at Cake Carousel in Richardson, Texas. I'm taking sooo many classes in the upcoming months. A couple weeks ago I started intermediate cake decorating, and this week I started beginning fondant.

I did 25 of these for one of my mom's coworkers, 3 all nighters in a row. But I still love them.

Mickey Mouse cake I did for my boss's 2 year old. Did the face myself since I couldn't find a mickey mouse pan anywhere!

This is my favorite cake that I've done so far! I made the poker chips out of fondant. This cake was so much fun and my brother enojyed it so much too!



Also I'm having a terrible time with butter cream roses. help help help.
